The Birth of the Concept…

Hey everyone… We are starting a blog so that we cannot only tell the world about our travels, but also have a collection of adventures and stories for ourselves. In the next few months you will see posts from us that discuss our travel plans. We are so excited about this summer and cannot wait to share it all with you.

The Birth of the Concept: As many of you know, Mike and I lived a couple hours away from each other for the first 2 years of our relationship, which led to many hours of talking on the phone. One night, he and I decided to make a bucket list together. We came up with countless things that the two of us wanted to do together before we, well you know…That night we spent three hours developing this working list.

The Concept: Travel as much of the United States in 30 days by Amtrak only

The Concept Becomes a Reality: I didn’t want to just talk about traveling and seeing the world. I wanted to actually do it and do it with Mike. So this Christmas, I bought Mike his rail pass (Amtrak’s ticket that gives us the 30 days to travel anywhere in the country).

We’ve talked about everything we like to see and do. We’ve chatted with friends and family to get their opinions. Now it’s time for us to get to it and plan!

’til next time… The Vagabonds

  1. Is the itinerary set? If so, will it be posted in advance? These are the things I’m going to need to know if I’m expected to follow along.

Also, is there some sort of prize for leaving the first comment?
